Sleep baby sleep

The baby who never sleeps is taking the whole never sleeps things to a whole new level.
We had a week of "lulling us into a false sense of security" and then last night she started it again.
I love my daughter. I adore her with all my heart but that same heart sinks a bit when I hear a clap of her hands, or a "ta ta" or a "Cuckoo" at 3 in the morning.
That means she is awake - properly awake and not just requiring a wee plug of her dummy. It means she will be awake for at least an hour and more likely two.
At three in the morning.
I'm pretty sure surveys have been done which state that between 3 and 4 in the morning is a very important time to get some sleep. I'm sure that without such sleep the human brain implodes or something.
Because today I am trying very, very hard to concentrate on my work and my brain just wants to implode.
A lot.

So please, pray tonight that my lovely precious little lady sleeps well.

Oh my God Claire mine is doing exactly the same. I feel like I've been run over by a truck today it is hellish.

I've cut my daughter's lunch time nap right down to one hour (it was probably 55 minutes) so I'm hoping she goes through tonight.

Good luck!

I'm in the same boat. I'm night weaning the oldest (again) and she's waking every night for a good old screaming session. Last night from 3:06 - 4:45am Today she skipped her nap so like Helen, I'm hoping for a miracle tonight...

Ooh, this brings it all back, Claire! Alice was such a non-sleeper that we even went to Sleep training Classes and when that didn't work we ended up buying a King Sized bed so she could sit up and faff about in between us and we could at least be in a reclining position... ahh such memories!

Its all coming back... Those memories never retire!
I wonder is it something to do with hyperemises - I also suffered from that during Jane's pregnancy and I hate to tell you but she never slept until she went to school!! Fx

It must happen to more Mammies than let on. You only ever seem to hear about the babby that sleeps through the night from day one. And everyone asks "do they sleep through the nite for ye?" And ye just wanna yell- mind your own business!! Or is that just me. Anyhow, I was a non sleeper apparently and yes my wee boy who is now over three has in the last six months started to sleep better and we don't know ourselves. There is an old wives tale that says a child that never sleeps is v intelligent LOL.
All you can do is accept you are a sleep deprived person and bear this in mind when in the company of cheque books, people that get on your nerves and basically every daily occurence!
